The Naked Portrait

Compton Verney, 2007. I’ve dug up a leaflet from the exhibition (the program is still avoiding me), along with some studies I did of work while I was there. It’s really intriguing to look back and see the notes I took, the names I noted down, the work that caught my eye. This was the first time I’d come across Jo Spence’s work, and even now I am still completely amazed by her; I did a representation essay last term based on her depiction of the female form. I know this might be veering slightly off course, but I remember this exhibition well, and I have found a review on the Telegraph website for the gallery. Bit outdated, but it would be a perfect exhibition for this project.
