Digital Work, Rest and Play.

This module has two parts attached to it. The second is to create three sets of images relating to each of these titles.

Digital Work. Digital Rest. Digital Play.

To start off, looking at these titles is pretty daunting. Digital photography is something I relate to digital manipulation of the image through Photoshop. Aside from this aspect I don’t have much understanding of the possible meanings. The surest way to begin a topic I am unsure of is to go back to basics and read the dictionary.

  1. Relating to or using signals or information represented by discrete values (digits) of a physical quantity, such as voltage or magnetic…: “digital TV”
  2. Involving or relating to the use of computer technology: “the digital revolution”.

Activity involving mental or physical effort done in order to achieve a purpose or result.
Be engaged in physical or mental activity in order to achieve a purpose or result, esp. in one’s job; do work.
noun.  job – labor – business – labour – occupation – employment
verb.  operate – labor – function – labour – run – go – make

restplural of rest

  1. Cease work or movement in order to relax, refresh oneself, or recover strength.
  2. Remain or be left in a specified condition: “rest assured”.
  1. An instance or period of relaxing or ceasing to engage in strenuous or stressful activity.
  2. The remaining part of something.
verb.  repose – relax – lean – lie
noun.  repose – remainder – pause – remnant – relaxation

Engage in activity for enjoyment and recreation rather than a serious or practical purpose.
Activity engaged in for enjoyment and recreation, esp. by children.
verb.  perform – act – toy
noun.  game – performance – drama – sport
Reviewing the basic terminology may seem unnecessary, but it is a starting point on the way to understand the three set series. Now when you attempt to define the topic as a whole, you are brought up short. I need to conduct much more research into these three titles before considering my personal approach.
