PROTEIGON from BURAYAN on Vimeo.

A few days stumbling across the internet has shown up a lot of intriguing videos and images. This quirky video was instantly one of my favorites. The ingeniously devised short film about the transformation of a simple piece of paper shows that the simple ideas will always be the most effective. This, I think proves part of my downfall with my own work. I put too much time trying to delve into a very detailed and tricky plan, which ultimately leads to frustration. I aim to simplify my own ideas in order to ultimately create more effective work.

The ambitious stop-motion sequence is brought together by a loud and quirky soundtrack that brings out a much more playful layer from the short film. The effect the music creates intrigues me, as when the video is considered against a different track that is quieter or slower I imagine it would loose a lot of its charm.
